Runway to Real Life

It’s not just your wardrobe that says it all – your hair speaks volumes about your style too. With that in mind, Grazia and Toni&Guy have put their perfectly preened heads together to try some of the hottest autumn catwalk trends – from hair to toe! Over the coming weeks, we’ll take the latest styles from day to night. First up, it’s the ’60s updo.

    Morning Meeting

    Make sure you look like you mean business… use a chic but sober jumper to cover up a white shirt with a sexy cutaway detail. Keeping your bouffant updo super-neat and chic will give you a truly professional edge.

    Working Lunch

    Heading to a smart restaurant? Ditch the jumper in favour of a statement necklace, cool jacket and iPad! Soften your morning-meeting hair by gently pulling out some face-framing tendrils.

    Cocktail O'Clock

    Phew, it’s cocktail hour. A black top with a shimmering silver panel is effortlessly elegantly. Meanwhile, give your hair some extra oomph – a wide black band will add instant glamour.

    HAIR MEET WARDROBE CREATIVE DIRECTOR: Create height by adding a couple of extra pins to push hair up. Add a hairband and pull out loose hair to frame the face. Fix with TONI&GUY Glamour Firm Hold Hairspray.


How to do a bouffant

  1. Blow dry till hair’s 70 per cent dry. Prep with Toni&GuyVolume Plumping Mousse, then use Glamour Moisturising Shine Spray for sleekness.

  2. Isolate a section from the front to the crown and clip. Twist remaining hair at the back and secure with clips and Glamour Firm Hold Hairspray. Backcomb the section in three parts.

  3. Blend the backcombed section into the twist with grips, and spritz with hairspray to secure.
