Fish-Tail Plait

A new season = new trends, and that calls for a hair makeover, too. So we've teamed up with TONI&GUY Hair Meet Wardrobe to bring you autumn's hottest catwalk looks, which we've put to the test. Will they work in real life? Can they take you from day to evening? Plus we show you how to recreate the look. On trial this week: the fish-tail plait


  • 10am

    Weekend bike ride

    When you're out and about, you want to be casual yet groomed and on trend. Beat the changeable autumnal weather with layers – a tweed jacket over a pretty knit and tough denim shirt. A fish-tail plait is the easy chic way to finish this look.

    Lunch with friends

How to do a Fish-Tail Plait

  1. Prep hair with TONI&GUY Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray to add that vital texture and definition to your plait. Roughly dry hair.

  2. Sweep hair over to one side. Divide into three equal sections then cross over alternately to create a plait. Secure with a band.

  3. Pull the plait apart slightly and add a little TONI&GUY Casual Sculpting Powder to the length of your plait for extra texture.

  4. Loosen hair around the face for a casual finish. Fix with TONI&GUY Casual Flexible Hold Hairspray for a lasting, on-trend look..
